The name Cudgen means red clay in the Yugambeh language, and it's a small place: 952 people at the last Census, with a median age of 39. These days it's mostly known as the home of the Tweed Valley Hospital, which opened to patients in May 2024 on Cudgen Road, next to Tweed Coast Road.
Mostly houses
About 82% of Cudgen homes are separate houses, and the rest are townhouses or semi-detached. If you have a driveway, put the skip there and you won't need any approval. In a complex, ask the body corporate first.
Picking a size
A 3m³ skip holds about 12 wheelie bins, enough for a small clear-out. The 4m³, our most popular size, holds about 16 and takes heavier loads like soil. For a bigger renovation, the 6m³ and 9m³ give you more room.
Street placement and our hours
A skip on the road, footpath or nature strip needs Tweed Shire Council's approval to place a skip bin in a public place, and a council fee applies. That's up to you to arrange. We're open 6:30am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, Queensland time, which is an hour behind NSW during daylight saving.

How soon can a skip get to Cudgen?
It can, as long as you book by midday. Our minimum notice is 36 hours. You choose an AM or PM preference at checkout, set in Queensland time.
Do I need approval for a skip in Cudgen?
Yes, when the bin sits on the road, footpath or nature strip. That needs Tweed Shire Council's approval to place a skip bin in a public place, with a council fee, and you're the one who arranges it. Driveways and yards need nothing.
Can I get a skip with a door?
Yes. A walk-in door is available on the 4m³ and 6m³ bins, which makes heavy or bulky items easier to load. Choose it as an add-on when you book.
What happens if I cancel?
There's no charge if you cancel more than 48 hours before delivery. Inside 48 hours, a $50 cancellation fee applies.
