Skip hire for a brand-new community

Kings Forest has approval for around 4,500 homes across an 869-hectare site on Tweed Coast Road. Stockland agreed to buy the project in 2025, the first homesites have settled, and schools, parks, sports fields and shops are in the plans. At the 2021 Census just 40 people lived here, so most of the community is still to come.

During the build

Construction waste like offcuts, packaging and plasterboard scraps goes in a General Builders bin. A 9m³ holds about 36 wheelie bins and suits most house builds. If the lot is tight, a 6m³ takes up less room.

After you move in

Blocks here run from about 392 to 610 square metres, so driveway space matters. A 3m³ or 4m³ skip is usually plenty for the boxes and packaging after a move. Landscaping soil goes in a Dirt bin, no bigger than 4m³.

Council approval and time zones

Keep the skip on your lot and no approval is needed. On the road, footpath or nature strip, Tweed Shire Council's approval to place a skip bin in a public place applies, with a fee. You arrange it. Our bookings run on Queensland time, an hour behind NSW during daylight saving.

Kings Forest questions

Common questions

Can I get a skip in Kings Forest tomorrow?

Book before midday and it can arrive the next day, since we need 36 hours' notice. Choose AM or PM at checkout. It's a preference rather than a set time, and it runs on Queensland time.

Does a skip on a Kings Forest street need approval?

Only if it's on public land. On the road, footpath or nature strip you'll need Tweed Shire Council's approval to place a skip bin in a public place, plus the council fee. You apply and you're responsible for it. On your own property, nothing is needed.

Can I put household rubbish in a builders' bin?

Yes. A General Builders bin takes general rubbish as well as building and renovation waste. Just keep out banned items like asbestos, tyres, batteries and liquids.

How long can the skip stay on site?

Two weeks is included. If your build will take longer, add an extra week or choose unlimited hire when you book.
