A skip for your Elanora house or townhouse
Elanora is very much a house suburb. The 2021 Census found nearly 80 per cent of local homes were separate houses, with townhouses making up most of the remainder and very few apartments in the mix. Tallebudgera Creek borders the suburb to the north-west, the Pacific Motorway runs along the east, and Guineas Creek and Simpsons roads mark the south-east. Well-known spots include The Pines Shopping Centre on Guineas Creek Road, the Nineteenth Avenue state high school and the K P McGrath Drive primary school.
Picking a spot for the bin
For most Elanora houses, the driveway does the job. It's on your own land, so there's no permit to think about. Live in a court or cul-de-sac? Keep the bin clear of the turning circle, and let the neighbours know when the truck is due. Townhouse owners and tenants have one extra step. Shared driveways and visitor spaces are common property, and most complexes have body corporate by-laws about them, so check what's allowed before you book. If the answer is no, the street is the fallback, and that brings a permit into play.
Matching your waste to the right bin type
Jobs here are the classic family-home kind: emptying the garage or shed, fitting a new kitchen or ensuite, redoing the backyard, swapping out a fence, or clearing out before you downsize and sell. Book a Green Waste bin for prunings, weeds, bark and grass clippings. General Household takes old furniture, toys and boxes, while General Builders covers renovation offcuts. Digging out a garden bed or the area around a pool? Soil can only go in a 4m bin or smaller.
Street placement needs a council permit
Keep the skip within your boundary and you won't need a permit. If it has to sit on the road, footpath or nature strip instead, a City of Gold Coast permit applies. That part is up to you. EZI Skips doesn't apply for permits, so you organise it and you're responsible for it. Before you book, work out where the truck will set the bin down. A spot on your driveway or front yard keeps things simple and avoids the permit question altogether.

Common questions
What's the soonest a skip can arrive in Elanora?
Our earliest delivery is 36 hours from when you book, so an online booking made before midday can arrive in Elanora the next day. Pick your date and let us know whether you'd like a morning or afternoon drop-off. We treat that as a preference rather than a set time.
What about leaving the skip on the verge in Elanora?
Only with a permit. Grass verges belong to the council, so leaving a skip on one means getting a City of Gold Coast permit. That's yours to arrange, and yours to answer for. Driveways and front yards sit within your boundary, so a bin there doesn't need any paperwork.
How big a skip does my Elanora job need?
Clearing out the garage, the shed or a spare room usually fits in a 3m or 4m. For a new kitchen or bathroom, a 6m is the usual pick, and a full house renovation or major yard overhaul may need a 9m. Garden prunings belong in a Green Waste bin. Soil has a 4m limit and concrete a 6m limit, so ring 1800 462 674 and we'll spread a heavier load over more than one bin.
I'm in an Elanora townhouse. Where can the skip go?
Start with your body corporate. Townhouse complexes usually have by-laws covering common property, which includes shared driveways and visitor spaces, so find out what's allowed before you book. If the bin can't go anywhere in the complex and has to go on the street, a City of Gold Coast permit applies, and arranging it is up to you.
