Varsity Lakes
skip bin hire
Varsity Lakes started to take shape in 1999. That's when Delfin Lend Lease purchased the land lying between Stephens and Robina, and Lake Orr was created as part of the work. Booking happens online, orders made before midday can arrive the next day, and hire runs two weeks as standard.

Skip hire for Varsity Lakes houses, units and lanes
Varsity Lakes became an official suburb in 2002, combining Stephens, Andrews and a slice of Robina. Its borders are the Pacific Motorway on the west, Reedy Creek Road on the south, and Bermuda Street and Mattocks Road on the east. Inside those lines you'll find Varsity College on Varsity Parade, Janette Green Park with its skate park and, right beside the motorway, the Varsity Lakes railway station.
Houses, townhouses and apartments
Housing here is a real mix. The 2021 Census showed around 43 per cent of homes were separate houses, about a third townhouses or similar, and almost a quarter apartments. Got a double driveway? A 4m or 6m skip should generally fit. Complexes are a different matter: common property is the body corporate's call, so ask whether a bin is allowed before you book.
Garages off Provence and Tannerone lanes
Some homes here are reached by laneway, with Tannerone Lane and Provence Lane among them. Where your garage backs onto a lane, check the skip can stay on your own land and leave your neighbour's access clear. A bin on your property needs no permit. If it ends up out on the road, footpath or nature strip, a council permit is needed, which you arrange and are responsible for. EZI Skips doesn't handle permits.
Move-outs and quick refreshes
Most local jobs are clear-outs and freshen-ups. Think packing up to move, clearing a storage cage or garage, giving a bathroom an update, or tidying up the backyard. A townhouse job often fits in a 3m or 4m, while clearing out a whole house is more of a 6m job. Need longer than the standard two weeks? Add an extra week, or go for unlimited hire, when you book.
Sizing it up in wheelie bins
Not sure how much you've got? Picture it in wheelie bins. A 3m skip holds roughly 12 wheelie bins of waste, or about three box trailer loads. A 4m holds around 16 and is the most popular all-rounder, while a 6m takes about 24. For extensions and building work, look at the 15m hook bin or a 9m. Weight limits apply to heavy waste: no soil in anything bigger than a 4m, and no concrete above a 6m.

Common questions
If I book today, when can my Varsity Lakes skip arrive?
Bookings need at least 36 hours' lead time, so booking online before midday means the bin can arrive the next day. Choose your delivery date and a morning or afternoon preference. We treat AM or PM as a preference rather than a promised time.
When does a Varsity Lakes skip need council approval?
When it's placed on the road, footpath or nature strip. A skip in any of those spots needs a City of Gold Coast permit, and you're the one who arranges it and is responsible for it. Kept within your own boundary, the skip needs no permit.
Which skip suits a Varsity Lakes townhouse or house?
Moving out of a townhouse or apartment, or doing a small reno there? Start with a 3m or 4m. Clearing a whole house, or taking on a larger renovation, points to a 6m. Extensions or building work may need a 9m skip or even the 15m hook bin. Soil and concrete are weight-limited to 4m and 6m bins respectively.
What if I need the skip for more than two weeks?
Standard hire is 14 days. If your move or renovation will take longer, you can add an extra week or choose unlimited hire when you book online. That gives you breathing room on bigger clear-outs without having to rush the job.
