Skip hire for Pacific Pines family homes
Stockland's purchase of 800 hectares in 1990 set the scene, with plans for roughly 5,800 house lots. That plan grew into Pacific Pines, which was officially named a suburb in 2003. Its neighbours are Oxenford, Gaven, Maudsland and Nerang. The main road through is Pacific Pines Boulevard, with Central Park and its lake beside it. The population sat at about 16,700 at both the 2016 and 2021 censuses, so this is a settled community rather than a building site.
Gardens that have filled out
Thirty-odd years on, many Pacific Pines gardens have grown up, from the trees to the hedges and beds. Cutting them back hard, or starting the yard again from scratch, is a typical job. Either way, the prunings belong in a Green Waste bin. Soil, rocks and timber have to stay out, since contamination fees apply to anything that isn't green. If you're clearing the garage or shed at the same time, give that rubbish its own general skip.
Your driveway is the spot
Since Pacific Pines was planned around house lots, most homes come with their own driveway, which is usually the obvious place for a skip. The night before delivery, move the car onto the street so the truck has a clear way in from the kerb. Typical jobs include garage clear-outs, bathroom updates and turning a spare room into a home office. The 4m³ skip, about 16 wheelie bins' worth, is our most popular all-rounder.
Pavers, paths and dirt
Old concrete paths, pavers and patios are heavy, so there are limits on bin size. Concrete and clean rubble go in a skip no bigger than 6m³, and dirt in one no bigger than 4m³. Got more than that? Ring 1800 462 674 and we'll spread it over a couple of bins. On a 4m³ or 6m³ you can also add a walk-in door, so you can wheel a barrow straight in instead of lifting.
Driveway versus nature strip
A skip on your own driveway or yard doesn't need a permit. Using the road, footpath or nature strip instead means getting a City of Gold Coast permit, and the application is yours to make. You're also fully responsible for it. We don't handle permits, so if the driveway is out of action for any reason, organise one well before delivery day.

Common questions
When's the soonest a skip can reach Pacific Pines?
The earliest delivery is 36 hours out, so if you book before midday, the bin can be on your driveway tomorrow. Choose the date online and pick morning or afternoon. That helps us plan the run, though it's not a guaranteed time slot.
Can my skip go on the nature strip in Pacific Pines?
It can, but only with a City of Gold Coast permit, and the same applies to the road or footpath. You arrange that permit and you're responsible for it. If the skip stays on your own driveway or in your yard, there's no permit needed at all.
Which bin should I pick for a garden overhaul or garage clean-out?
For a typical Pacific Pines yard, a garden overhaul fits a 4m³ or 6m³ Green Waste bin. Emptying a garage or spare room sits well within a 3m³ or 4m³ general skip. Lifting pavers or a concrete path? Choose Concrete & Clean Rubble, in a bin no larger than 6m³, and keep levelling dirt to a 4m³.
What can't go in a Green Waste bin?
Soil, rocks and timber all need to stay out, because Green Waste bins take garden material only and contamination fees apply. Some items are banned from every bin, including asbestos, tyres, batteries, gas bottles, liquids, wet paint and chemicals. Digging out soil as well? Book a separate Dirt bin, no bigger than 4m³.
