Hiring a skip in Ashmore: what to know
Ashmore sits between Southport and Nerang. Its northern side follows Southport–Nerang Road, home to Ashmore City shopping centre, while the Nerang River marks the south-west. Homes went up in numbers during the 1970s as the Ashmore Village estate took shape, and in 1978 Ashmore State School opened its doors on Currumburra Road. It's still a family area. The 2021 Census counted separate houses as roughly two in every three homes, and more than a third of local homes had four bedrooms or more.
Where the skip goes
Most Ashmore homes are stand-alone houses, so the bin normally lands on the driveway. Before you choose, run a tape measure over the space and compare it with the measurements for each bin size. That tells you whether a 4m or a 6m will fit. About one home in five here is a townhouse, and those share a driveway, so get the body corporate's agreement first. Running a business in the light industrial strip near Hinde Street? Keep the skip within your own lot and a permit never comes into it.

Asbestos, tyres and batteries can't go in any bin.
Do you need council approval?
Keep the skip on your driveway or in the front yard and there's no permit to get. If it has to sit on the road, the footpath or the nature strip, the City of Gold Coast requires a permit. You apply for it and carry the responsibility from start to finish; EZI Skips doesn't lodge permit applications. If you're unsure, measure the driveway again and see whether a smaller bin fits inside the boundary.

If I book today, when can the skip arrive in Ashmore?
The earliest delivery is 36 hours from when you book, so an order placed online by 12 noon can be on your Ashmore driveway the following day. You choose the date, plus an AM or PM preference. Keep in mind AM or PM is a preference rather than a set time.
Will a skip outside my Ashmore house need a permit?
Only if it's off your property. A skip on your own driveway or front yard needs nothing from council. Put it on the road, footpath or nature strip and you'll need a City of Gold Coast permit, which you arrange and are responsible for. EZI Skips doesn't apply for permits.
Which skip suits a four-bedroom Ashmore clear-out?

Is there a skip I can walk into?
Yes. The 4m and 6m bins can come with a walk-in door, so you can carry or wheel waste straight in rather than lifting it over the side. Tick the door add-on while booking online. The 3m, 9m and 15m don't have a door option.
